ITB Volleyball Team Competes at the 2025 Tarumanegara Sports and Art Competition
BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – The achievements of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) students continue to shine not only in academics but also in sports. This was recently proven by Rully Dwi Nugraha Dasyura, a 2023 Meteorology student, who, along with the ITB men’s volleyball team, successfully claimed 3rd place in the 2025 Tarumanegara Sports and Art Competition (TSAC). This prestigious tournament was held at Tarumanegara University, West Jakarta, on Friday (February 28, 2025), and featured participation from various top universities across Indonesia.
ITB's participation in TSAC is not new. The ITB volleyball team has a long-standing history with the competition and even took home the championship title back in 2017. This year, the team once again delivered an outstanding performance and secured a podium finish by placing third in the external volleyball category.
The road to the tournament was not without obstacles. The players had to balance a demanding training schedule with their academic commitments, making preparation a challenge in itself. Nevertheless, the team's dedication and hard work bore impressive results.
“Training had to be pushed to the maximum—sometimes even beyond comfort—so that our team chemistry could develop,” said Rully. “But all the sacrifices in terms of time, energy, and finances were worth it, because we’re satisfied with what we achieved.”

The ITB team faced formidable opponents throughout the competition, many of whom came in with more extensive preparation. One of the major hurdles was adapting to the field conditions and the hotter weather compared to the cooler climate of Bandung, where the team typically trains. Even so, the players fought relentlessly, sticking to their strategies, maximizing their potential, and maintaining strong team support throughout each match.
To fellow ITB students aspiring to join similar competitions, Rully offered an encouraging message: “Stay motivated and keep practicing. If there’s a competition, don’t hesitate, just go for it. Winning or losing comes later. What matters most is gaining experience. As long as we give our best, the rewards will follow,” he shared.
