BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - The Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) received a visit from the Polish Embassy on Tuesday (March 4, 2025) at the ITB Rectorate Building, Tamansari Street, Bandung.

The meeting was attended by the Rector of ITB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T.; Vice Rector for Communication, Partnership, Alumni, and Administration, Dr. Andryanto Rikrik Kusmara, S.Sn., M.Sn.; Vice Rector for Academics and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Irwan Meilano, S.T., M.Sc.; Head of the Subdivision for International Program Development, apt. Zulfan Zazuli, S.Farm., M.Farm., Ph.D.; Acting Dean of the School of Architecture, Planning, and Policy Development (SAPPD) ITB, Aswin Indraprastha, S.T., M.T., M.Eng., Ph.D.; and Dean of the School of Business and Management (SBM) ITB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ignatius Pulung Nurprasetio, M.SME.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Tatacipta introduced ITB’s 12 faculties and schools spanning diverse fields, including arts, sciences, business, and engineering. He also highlighted ITB’s international programs, such as summer programs and student exchange programs.

Meanwhile, the Rector of Adam Mickiewicz University, Bogumila Kaniewska, shared that the city of Poznan, Poland, is home to approximately 70% of the country’s student population in Poland and eight universities. The region developed a comprehensive academic ecosystem that includes engineering, finance, economics, agriculture, arts, and music.

“I believe that collaborations between Poland and Indonesia, especially Adam Mickiewicz University and other universities in Poland, are still quite limited. Therefore, we should strengthen these ties,” she stated.

She believes there is a potential for joint research as well as student-faculty exchanges. Given that there are some similarities between the education system in Poland and ITB. In addition, this collaboration can further expand opportunities for both countries to share knowledge, both theoretical and practical.

This sentiment was positively received by the Rector of ITB. He believes there are several opportunities for cooperation in various fields that can be carried out by both. Particularly in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).

“Organizing workshops could be a good starting point for this collaboration,” said Prof. Tatacipta.

The meeting was concluded with further discussions on programs that can be carried out by both sides, especially in the academic field.
