BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – The Mechanical Engineering Student Association of Institut Teknologi Bandung (HMM ITB) successfully held the Mechanical Run (M-Run) 2025 at ITB Ganesha Campus on Sunday (April 13, 2025). Several aspects made this 5K run event particularly appealing, including the unique race track entirely set within the ITB Ganesha Campus and the enthusiastic support from Mechanical Engineering students who cheered on participants at various points along the route.

Project Manager of Mechanical Festival 2025, Angger Pangestu, stated that M-Run is one of the pre-events leading up to the Mechanical Festival 2025, which will culminate on May 2–3, 2025.

Angger explained that the event aims to raise awareness and foster public interest in running as a sport. In addition, running is relatively affordable and accessible to people from all walks of life.

This year's run attracted 280 participants, consisting of ITB academic community members as well as the general public. The event also welcomed a wide range of age groups, from children and teenagers to adults.

Angger mentioned that the running track within the campus was one of M-Run’s main attractions. This received a positive response from participants, who were able to run while enjoying various historical and notable spots around the campus. Some of the areas passed by runners included the West Hall, a designated cultural heritage site; the Soekarno Monument; the FTMD Terrace, a public open space that features renewable energy and the latest mechanical technology design while reflecting the spirit of solidarity characteristic of the Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering; as well as various other historic buildings and iconic locations.

Mechanical Engineering students from ITB showed their support for the runners by singing and playing drums during the M-Run 2025 event on Sunday (April 13, 2025).

In addition, at several points along the route, Mechanical Engineering students from ITB sang and played drums to cheer on participants as they made their way to the finish line. This enthusiastic support created a unique and memorable atmosphere throughout the event.

Following the success of M-Run 2025, Angger expressed his gratitude to all parties who supported the event. “We extend our thanks to all participants, including Mechanical Engineering alumni from as early as the class of '76 to the younger generations,” he said.

He also conveyed his appreciation to ITB leadership for their support and positive response to the event. “We hope this activity can be held regularly in the future, considering it’s a great initiative that promotes health,” he added.

“This is a very commendable event. First, it provides students with valuable experience in managing and planning an event. Second, for participants, it serves as a moment of togetherness. I saw many alumni taking part as well. So, this event is not only beneficial for physical health, but also for mental well-being,” he remarked.
