Prof. Dr. Irwan Meilano, S.T., M.Sc. currently serves as the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs (WRAM) for the 2025–2030 term. He is a Professor at the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Technology and is part of the Spatial and Cadastre System Research Group.
His formal education began with earning a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) in 1997. He then pursued further studies at Nagoya University, Japan, where he obtained a Master’s degree in 2003 and a Doctorate in 2006.
Prior to his role as WRAM, he served as the Dean of the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Technology (FEST).
Prof. Irwan has received numerous awards in recognition of his dedication to his field of expertise. In 2023, he was honored with the Young Inspirational Geospatial Award at the HxGN LIVE Indonesia event. That same year, he received the 25 Years of Service Award from Institut Teknologi Bandung for his quarter-century commitment to the institution
In 2020, Prof. Dr. Irwan Meilano, S.T., M.Sc. was awarded the Satyalancana Karya Satya 20 Years by the President of the Republic of Indonesia. In 2019, he received the Indroyono Susilo Award during the Fifth International Conference of the Indonesian Society for Remote Sensing (ICOIRS).
